OUR HELPERS! |
POZARSKI FAMILY FARMS MAPLE SYRUPBlake started collecting maple sap in March of 2012. We started small, with the help of a neighbor, and used all metal taps and pails. In 2012 they collected a little over 100 gallons of maple sap and cooked just 7 quarts of maple syrup. In 2013, we made our own PVC bag holders and used Sap Saks for collection. With 1550 taps, we collected 13,000 gallons of sap. The 2014 sapping season saw more production with 2200 taps with PVC holders and Sap Saks. Our maple syrup was labeled and sold as YELLOW RIVER GOLD. In 2015, Pozarski Family Farms LLC was created and saw a lot of changes in the woods and sap shack. Blake and his crew started a pipeline in our woods and in 2015 we had 400 taps on vacuum and also had 600 taps with PVC holders and Sap Saks in Blake’s Dad, Scott’s woods. We also purchased a used Reverse Osmosis (RO) system that cut our cooking time in half. The 2016 season saw even more growth and change. We maintained the 400 taps on vacuum in our woods and installed an 1100 tap pipeline on vacuum in Scott’s woods. In 2016 we collected 7315 gallons of sap from our woods, a whopping 19,015 gallons from Scott’s woods, and we purchased 7188 gallons from local sap collectors. All of that raw maple sap cooked down to over 610 gallons of maple syrup. In just four short years we have seen huge growth with our maple syrup set-up and we are anticipating even more taps for the 2017 sapping season and are looking forward to upgrading to a new wood fired evaporator!
Our very own maple syrup is available for purchase and is always in stock! We are hoping to have our online store up and running soon! In the meantime, you can shop our maple syrup on our Etsy Shop here! |
